Antique Nippon Hand Painted Rabbits Pulling Bunnies on Sleigh Child's Tea Set Antique hand painted porcelain child's tea set including teapot, creamer, sugar, four plates, and four tea cups and saucers. Each piece has a green band and thinner gold bands along the edge.
The teapot, creamer, sugar, cups, and plates are all decorated with a rabbit pulling a bunny holding a carrot on a sleigh. The saucers to the cups have a running rabbit. Marked on the bottom with a blue Hand Painted Nippon rising sun mark. This mark was used between 1891 and 1921. These have some wear to the gilding, a few pieces have some staining from what appears to be enamel spilled in manufacture, and the creamer has a long discolored crack extending from the rim on the side of the spout and curving around the base.
The teapot measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide from spout to handle x 3 1/2 inches tall. The creamer measures approximately 3 1/4 inches wide from spout to handle x 2 inches tall. The sugar measures approximately 4 1/8 inches wide from handle to handle x 2 3/4 inches tall to the top of the lid finial.
Each tea cup measures approximately 3 inches wide including the handle x 1 3/8 inches tall. Each saucer measures approximately 3 3/4 inches wide. Each plate measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide.These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the pieces.
