Antique / Vintage Georg Jensen 16 pieces Demitasse Coffee set EUC Mosaic RARE
Exquisite Georg Jensen Mosaic pattern demitasse set. 16 pieces total, 2 of which are pristine lids for sugar bowl and coffee / espresso / tea / chocolat pot. Gold rims and bands, atomic style design is accented with platinum bubbles all on an ivory-white background. Truly a stunning focal point and testament to Georg Jensen's modernist design style that started when he enrolled in the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Art in 1887. After graduation, he first studied ceramics for several years, and was not, in fact a silversmith immediately as often thought! Truly a pioneer in design - anything Jensen is a study in graceful form and beautiful proportions - as well as high quality material construction. This demitasse set is no exception! Sourced in Hudson Valley, NY, the incredibly rare "mosaic" line was not typically available in the US, and the import tags on several of the pieces show that it was brought in by way of Japan.
