Produced in Bavaria, Germany likely either by Scherzer & Co. Or Johann or Christian Seltmann - who made Hand-painted Bavarian floral pattern porcelain at that time. They did not stamp their name but were known to stamp Bavaria/Bavarian on their work. Please see the attached pictures.
(1) Carafe /Teapot 8" Tall x 6.5" Wide Handle to Spout. There is Gold Trim on the Rim & the end of the Spout. There are also Gold Trim Lines on the Spout and where the Spout attaches to the pot. The Handle is an unusual shape (see pix), with Gold Trim outlining it & on the outside and top of the handle. The piece has 3 clusters of Hand-painted Goldenrod flowers/leaves on each side of the pot.
(2) A set of 5 Small Tea Cups with Saucers. The cups are 2.25" Tall x 2" in Diameter. They also have the unusual Handle design. Gold Trim is on the Edge of the cups and outlining the handle copying the Teapot. The inside rim of the Tea Cups has a Floral/Scroll pattern around it.
The cups are surrounded by Hand-painted Goldenrod Flowers/Leaves. It should be noted that the cups are very fine porcelain - the last picture was taken holding one up to the light - it is almost translucent. The Saucers are a work of Art. They are 4.5 in Diameter with Heavy Gold Trim On Scalloped Edges.
I have included an extra saucer to the set. No chips, cracks or crazing or signs of restoration.
The Gold Trim has lasted through the generations. There is a tiny manufacturing nob in the inside of one cup (see picture #5) or else I would rate this set as MINT.For a Collector - it is a RARE set. A work of Art from Master Craftsmen. As a gift for a Collector you would be remembered forever as they display and/or use the set!
